Original balsa shaping block, FLEXPAD

Flexpad balsa shaping blocks are used by surfboard shapers all over the world.

Used by hand, this tool is specifically designed for shaping and sanding surfboard blanks. This two-part block is made from aircraft-grade balsa wood, with a replaceable foam pad attached by Velcro, making it both very strong and lightweight.
Simply wrap an 8" x 11" sheet of sandpaper or sanding screen around it and start shaping — no need to buy expensive specialty sandpaper. You can even flip it over and use the solid balsa wood side as a flat sanding block for plan-shaping work. The Flexpad Balsa Shaping Block is considered a 2-in-1 tool, as it can be used on both the foam side and the harder balsa wood side. Versatile and durable, this shaping block offers many uses.

The yellow foam pad supplied with the block is a soft-density pad, which can later be replaced with other densities as needed: Super Soft (blue) / Medium (red) / Hard (orange).
